AEM Corp

AEM Corp is a professional services and technology firm that supports government and industry clients with solutions in data systems, management, and governance services. They focus on helping organizations improve performance, strengthen infrastructure, and make informed decisions through tailored technical and consulting services. Partnering with AEM, NCADEMI is leveraging the Common Education Data Standards (CEDS) for state educational agencies to collect and report data on the provision and use of accessible digital educational materials by students with disabilities.

OCALI AT&AEM Center

The OCALI AT&AEM Center, a division of the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio, is a centralized, responsive resource center that empowers individuals with disabilities by providing accessible educational materials, access to assistive technologies, and highly specialized technical assistance and professional development support. The AT&AEM Center partners with NCADEMI to develop and disseminate evidence-based practices for braille accessibility in state assessments.

Teach Access

Teach Access supports educators to teach and students to learn about digital accessibility. Through collaboration with education, industry, disability advocacy organizations, and the public sector, they are building a future workforce that creates accessible technology. In partnership with Teach Access, NCADEMI supports educator preparation programs to improve the preparation of new teachers and administrators to select, create, and use accessible digital educational materials.

State Educational Technology Directors Association (SETDA)

SETDA is the national organization representing state and territorial edtech leaders and serves as the lead contractor for the 2024 National Educational Technology Plan. As a partner, SETDA brings expertise in edtech policy, professional learning, and communication networks to help NCADEMI address digital access barriers for students with disabilities, disseminate resources, and engage state digital learning leaders.

ISKME is a global nonprofit that helps educators and states integrate and improve open educational resources (OER). NCADEMI partners with ISKME to disseminate accessibility best practices for the creation and curation of accessible OER.

ATIA is a membership organization that develops and promotes assistive technology products and professional learning to support the independence and inclusion of people with disabilities. With its long-standing annual conference reaching a wide network of educators and practitioners, ATIA serves as a key dissemination partner for NCADEMI.

Natalie Shaheen, Ed.D.

Dr. Shaheen, an assistant professor of blind and low-vision education at Illinois State University, is a leading researcher on K-12 digital accessibility and equal access to technology-mediated learning. Bringing both scholarly expertise and lived experience with congenital blindness, Dr. Shaheen supports NCADEMI’s knowledge development and technical assistance activities related to state and local educational agencies and educator preparation programs.

Described & Captioned Media Program (DCMP)

DCMP provides free accessible educational media and resources for families and educators of students with disabilities, offering thousands of videos with high-quality captions, audio description, and American Sign Language. DCMP will work with NCADEMI to apply its nationally recognized accessibility guidelines to develop learning modules on providing accessible video.

IRIS Center

The IRIS Center at Vanderbilt University develops free online modules and instructional resources on evidence-based practices, widely used in teacher preparation and professional development. The IRIS Center will collaborate with NCADEMI to create resources that help pre-service educators and administrators learn to provide and use accessible digital educational materials, adding these materials to the IRIS Resource Locator for long-term sustainability and reach.
