Sustainability is the process of turning an initiative into a lasting, established program—and keeping it going over time. NCADEMI helps state and local educational agencies (SEAs and LEAs) plan for sustaining activities and resources that lead to a coordinated system of digital accessibility.

Quality Indicators for the Provision and Use of Accessible Materials in PreK-12 Systems

The Quality Indicators explain the actions states and school districts take to ensure students with and without disabilities can use their learning materials. The Quality Indicators are presented in two different sets, Quality Indicators for Accessible Digital Educational Materials and Quality Indicators for Accessible Formats, reflecting the laws that guarantee students with disabilities access to educational materials.

The Hexagon Tool: A Readiness Protocol for Implementing the Quality Indicators

The Readiness Protocol is based on the National Implementation Research Network (NIRN) Hexagon Tool. It is designed to help SEAs and LEAs determine their readiness to implement the Quality Indicators for Accessible Digital Educational Materials and/or the Quality Indicators for Accessible Formats

Quality Indicator Self-Assessment Tools

For SEAs and LEAs ready to implement the Quality Indicators, these tools guide teams through a process of conducting a baseline self-assessment of four stages of implementation: Not Started, Emerging, Operationalizing, and Scaling & Sustaining. Cycles of routine self-assessment support continuous improvement toward sustainability.
